This kit has been designed to introduce students to practical agarose gel electrophoresis and also to teach the theory behind gene cloning. The kit uses dyes to represent DNA samples. Dyes reduce the overall cost fo the kit and also travel much faster than DNA allowing the practical to be completed in a shorter time. The gel tank has been modified for use in schools and runs of 2xPP3 batteries (not supplied).
The kit contains suffient reagents for five runs and comes complete with ful instructins and student study sheets on electrophoresis and gene cloning.
